The Mathematics 1 module is designed to provide a fundamental introduction to the mathematical tools essential for scientific studies. Its main objective is to strengthen the knowledge acquired at secondary school and to ease the transition to university-level reasoning, with particular emphasis on rigour, logic, and methodology.
This course booklet is intended for first-year students and covers essential topics in algebra and analysis, including complex numbers, elementary functions, limits, and introductory differential calculus.
Each chapter is supplemented with illustrative examples and graded exercises, allowing students to practise progressively and develop independent problem-solving skills. This material is designed to serve both as a course support and a revision reference throughout the semester.
We hope that this work will help students build a solid mathematical foundation and prepare them effectively for more advanced studies.
