The inferential statistics 1 aims to be a means of inferring the strength of the relationship between two or more variables. For example, the correlation between two variables means that the change in one of them is linked to the change in the other variable, i.e. the increase or decrease in the values of one of the variables is accompanied by an increase or decrease in the values of the other variable. The correlation determines the strength of the relationship. The correlation may be strong or weak.
