The content of this module (Semester 2) introduces first-year students to the major concepts (dichotomies) that form part and parcel of Saussurean linguistics. It also makes students familiar with the branches of linguistics, i.e. phonetics, phonology, morphology, sy,tax, semantics, pragmatics, and text/discourse analysis.
