    • By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

      ·        Discover basic terminology and fundamental concepts related to academic work and research. 

      ·        Identify appropriate research topics and research problems in English studies.

      ·        Develop skills related to observation, objective reasoning, scientific curiosity, argumentation and openness to discussion.

    Theme 1 : Introduction to Research

    • In this chapter , learners will be introduced to basic terminology and fundamental concepts related to academic research. The chapter discusses how knowldge is aquired through the scientific method, what we mean by research and research methodology, what objectives and motives inspire the conduct of research,  how it is structured.

    • This chapter focuses on formulating research problems in English studies.
