    • Before starting the Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering course, students should have a solid understanding of the following fundamental concepts:

      • Cell biology: structure and organization of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.

      • Biochemistry: chemical composition of nucleic acids (DNA, RNA) and proteins.

      • General genetics: gene, allele, genotype, phenotype, mutations, and genetic information transmission.

      • Fundamentals of DNA: double helix structure, base complementarity, and replication.

      • Basic concepts of transcription and translation: general understanding of the flow of genetic information from DNA to protein.

      • Basic laboratory techniques: pipetting, solution preparation, gel electrophoresis, and microscopic observation.

These prerequisites will help students better understand the molecular mechanisms and genetic manipulation techniques covered in this course.
