Today, a common way to study and analyze different processes in natural sciences, engineering, and in human sciences, is to use computers, simulations and mathematical and statistical models. Simulations on the computer screen work as a complement to, and sometimes as a replacement to experiments and theory. The aim of numerical analysis is to design and study methods for solving certain mathematical problems derived from the modeling of real problems, whose solution we seek to calculate using a computer, i.e. to find or give approximate values of the exact solution with a certain degree of accuracy.
