Objectifs de l’enseignement :  L’objectif du module est d’apporter aux étudiants quelques outils pour l’analyse économique. Montrer aux étudiants que le milieu rural est un milieu composite où s’exercent différentes activités agricoles; Montrer la corrélation entre développement et accroissement des relations entre espace rural et espace urbain. Présenter les principales caractéristiques de l’agriculture algérienne et son évolution dans l’espace et dans le temps, ainsi que les différentes politiques et les multiples conditions qui l’ont influencé.

Applied agroecology

Agroecology is a holistic approach that applies ecological concepts and principles to the design and management of sustainable agroecosystems. It is often considered the science of sustainable agriculture.

This course examines how the evolution of agriculture has impacted the environment, leading to the degradation of key production resources (soil, biodiversity, water) and altering agricultural landscapes. It also explores how agroecological principles align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and identifies agroecological systems adapted to the Algerian context.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Critically evaluate conventional agricultural practices and assess their impacts on the environment and sustainability.

  • Design sustainable agroecological systems adapted to different regions of Algeria.
