The module enables students to understand the city as an integrated urban system through the study of its historical evolution, structure, and functions. It aims to analyze different forms of urban organization as well as the factors influencing urban growth and expansion. The course also develops students’ ability to study urban phenomena and issues related to urbanization, such as transportation, population density, and land use. It emphasizes the urban network in Algeria and the relationship between urban functions and territorial development. Finally, it provides students with essential foundations in urban planning, urban management, and sustainable cities.
