This course is designed to enhance students' oral and written communication skills within scientific and professional contexts. Aimed at second-year Biological Sciences students, it focuses on developing clarity, precision, and effectiveness in expressing ideas, presenting research, and collaborating in multidisciplinary environments. Through this course, students will learn how to structure scientific writings, deliver impactful presentations, and engage in constructive dialogue, preparing them for academic success and future careers in biological sciences.

This subject consists of teaching the fundamentals of biochemistry and the concepts of enzymology, and familiarising students with biochemical techniques.

Zoology is a branch of biology that focuses on the study of animals. It covers various aspects of animal life, such as anatomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, evolution, and animal behavior. Zoologists study not only modern animal species but also fossils to understand the evolution of animals over time. They may specialize in particular groups of animals, such as insects (entomology), birds (ornithology), mammals (mammalogy), or reptiles and amphibians (herpetology). Zoology also plays a key role in biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management by studying the interactions between animals and their environment.
