Contemporary anthropological theories (since 1960-1970) are characterized by a shift from fixed structures to the study of change, power, the body, globalization, and identities. They prioritize the ethnography of the contemporary, analyzing complex situations (local/global fieldwork) rather than isolated cultures, while integrating reflexivity, a critique of ethnocentrism, and an engaged approach.
