This Course is especially designed for university students at third year international trade level who need to use the English language for business communication in academic and professional context. It covers a set of business topics that are related to international trade so as to target the English language and business skills the students need.


This subject is intended for third year international trade students. It is organized to provide a background on the international financial environment and then to focus on the managerial aspects from a corporate perspective.


Considering that the commodity exchange is the financial market in which contracts on commodities (enrgy, mineral, agricultural ) are traded, it is important to know how it works, how to achieve profit and hedge on it and avoid loss (generated by price fluctuations) by using these different contracts. Therefore, the  aim of teaching this module is to familiarize the student with:

- The strategic commodities that are traded on the stock exchange, as well as the factors affecting their spot and future prices

- The most important contracts are this stock exchange, how to apply them and the purpose of applying each contract.

- How are clearing and settlement operations carried out in the stock exchange?
