Translation has recently been taught in Algerian universities for learners of foreign languages to improve their translation techniques and understanding of the similarities and differences between their mother tongue and the target language but there are still problems regarding translation instruction, but rather it has been taught as word-by-word translation like teaching etymology from the bilingual dictionary. Therefore, the current syllabus is tailored to make students familiar with the difficulties of translation and acquaint them with translation theories in order to put them to practice.
